3. When I have done research in the past, I was normally researching a topic for school or work. Most of the time I conduct research alone, but there have been times when I am researching a topic that others are interested in. Pretty much every time I am searching for something, I go to Google, and a lot of the time Wikipedia will come up with an answer. I am not always sure if the answer is correct, and if so, I will do another search on Google until I find something that I believe is accurate. If I had more time to research the topic, I would probably find an alternate way to research. Such as, going to the library or talking to someone who is knowledgeable in the area. Depending on what I needed the information for, I would present the results in a written paper or just verbally.
4. Academic Research: In my history of architecture class I was asked to write a research paper on Charles Eames. I needed to create a presentation to go along with my paper about the life and creations of Charles Eames. The questions I asked were, "Who was he?", "Where is he from?", "What was his history?", and "What were his accomplishments?". I first started by doing basic searches on the internet for pictures and information, then got more detailed and finished with researching some books. I found plenty of pictures on the internet, but some of the information I collected turned out to be false. If I were to conduct my research again, I would spend most of my time researching books instead of the internet.
Personal Research: About six months ago, we were researching different venues to have our wedding and reception. The instructions were to keep it in the price range and be something that we could both agree on. The questions we asked were, location, price, accommodations and availability. We started by conducting a basic search on the internet, talking to friends with experience and reading magazines. I found the magazines to be more helpful in this situation. The outcomes of our research was that we found a beautiful place to have our wedding, but it took us a lot longer to find a place than we expected. If I were to research this again I would probably try to talk to more people with personal experience.
5. The motivation for my research was to find a venue for our wedding before the temperature got too warm. The subject of our search was for an available venue on such short notice. The audience for our research would be my husband and I, and all of our friends and family attending the wedding. Knowing the audience affected our research in that we knew how far everyone would have to commute.
6. Previous teachers have told me that I have a good vocabulary. I find myself often using the word "also", and I tend to have long sentences with too many commas. I also have to correct my tense usage, past tense, present tense, etc. I think I need to focus most on my grammar, and wording my sentences correctly.
